Vytrus Biotech and the Local Committee of the Red Cross in Terrassa renew their alliance

For the 4th consecutive year, Vytrus Biotech and the Local Committee of the Red Cross in Terrassa  (Creu Roja Terrassa, Barcelona) renew their collaboration agreement, focused on the socio-educational project that Creu Roja de Terrassa carries out at the Mont Perdut Institute in the Catalan city.

The alliance between Creu Roja Terrassa and Vytrus Biotech is governed by a framework collaboration agreement initiated in 2022 and which leaves open participation and cooperation between both parties to join synergies in the face of new initiatives or actions that may arise.

The socio-educational project at the Mont Perdut Institute in Terrassa was initiated by Creu Roja Terrassa in 2013 and continues to be developed thanks to various grants and collaborations such as those of Vytrus. This project to which Vytrus joins is based on educational innovation. Through socio-educational accompaniment, two objectives are achieved:

  • Guarantee a daily, balanced and quality intake, promoting healthy eating habits
  • Through inclusive leisure, to carry out psycho-emotional accompaniment to adolescents, with reinforcement of individual and vocational capacities, and stimulate academic performance, which facilitates growth and integral personal development. In this way, future pathologies are prevented, reducing educational inequality and discrimination for economic reasons, providing possibilities for professional integration in an inclusive future, for these young people in vulnerable situations.

In 2024, this socio-educational project has welcomed 40 young people, 18 female and 22 male, High Education and Baccalaureate students, 54% of Maghreb origin, 23% of Spanish origin, and 33% from South American countries. 182 daily socio-educational sessions have been carried out (lunch, socio-educational space and snack) and 5,460 individual attentions, with a total dedication of 364 direct hours. In addition, it includes a dining room grant for the entire school year. The development of this social project is possible thanks to the technical team of Creu Roja Terrassa and the participating volunteer mentors.

This alliance between the two organizations materializes Vytrus’ purpose, to generate a positive impact on people, fulfilling Vytrus’ social commitment, which drives the new Corporate Social Responsibility (ESG) Strategy.
