The concept

The interaction between sun radiation and microbiota can either have a positive or detrimental impact on our skin health and appearance.

Vytrus unveils a new role of skin microbiota in photoageing under the concept of the Photobiome Factor, which involves a certain bacteria community characterized by its capacity to synthesize and release certain molecular components metabolized by the interaction of the microbiota with solar radiation.

The active PHOTOBIOME counteracts and protects the microbiota and the skin cells from the photo-oxidative stress of harming sun radiation and make the Photobiome Factor bring beneficial molecules to the skin cells

The plant

The plant origin is compound of stem cell cultures of Pomegranate and Cotton. The Pomegranate culture is rich in selective cell membrane lipids (main ones: phospholipids, glycolipids, glycerides and free fatty acids). The cell culture is also rich in its polyphenol fraction (plant chromophores), especially ellagic acid as a precursor of urolithins. The Cotton culture is a cell lysate rich in protective cellular factors including a sophisticated cocktail of plant chromophores and antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and photoprotective polyphenols such as gentisic, salicylic, p-coumaric, transferulic, caffeic, and kaempferol acids, quercetin and rutin. The two plant cell cultures have also been enriched with two components of plant origin (sugars) that play a key role as potent protectors and strengtheners of microbial cell membranes.

The concept

The concept
